I feel that my participation in the Tri To Beat (now Fighting Cancer Triathlon) was a
fantastic experience to be part of on so many levels. It not only gave me a great
incentive to get fitter it was excellent opportunity for me and my friends to contribute to
a cause which touches almost every person’s life. My Dad died from cancer when I was
10, my brother and my auntie…like so many people I have lost loved ones from this
terrible disease.
My cousin, boyfriend and sister all got involved in participating in the event, we had a
BBQ in our local village to raise sponsorship and the support from the locality was
amazing. People really respected the effort we put in. You don’t have to be a super fit
athlete or raise loads of money to take part in the Fighting Cancer Triathlon. It caters for
all levels and everyone participating is contributing to a really important cause whilst
getting fit and having fun!!
