Fighting Cancer Triathlon (Tri-To-Beat Cancer) is an independent self-financed charity set up in 2001 as a
way of raising critically needed funds to support the Cancer Clinical Research Trust.
When Anne Burns had the idea to set-up Tri-To-Beat-Cancer she had to learn how to swim first even
whilst she was still undergoing chemotherapy treatment. It is this sort of determination that underpins what
this event is all about.
“Anne Burns Charity Founder (centre on photo) - sadly passed away in
2004. In 2010 the 10th Anniversary, the event underwent a name
change to “Fighting-Cancer-Triathlon” but maintains its status as
Ireland’s premier charity triathlon.”
